Frequently Asked Questions
Frequently asked questions.
Is Rincon Electrical licensed to carry out electrical work in Victoria?
Yes. Rincon Electrical holds a Registered Electrical Contractor (REC) licence in Victoria, which is the legal requirement to perform electrical work in this state. All electricians on our team hold current licences and every job we complete is certified to Australian Wiring Standards (AS/NZS 3000). We are also fully insured, including public liability and professional indemnity cover.
Do I need an electrical compliance certificate after work is done?
Yes. Under the Electricity Safety Act 1998 (Vic), all electrical installation work must be accompanied by a Certificate of Electrical Safety (CES). Rincon Electrical issues this documentation as standard for every job we complete — you should receive it within 30 days of the work being done. Keep it in a safe place as it may be required when you sell or rent your property.
What qualifications do your electricians have?
All electricians at Rincon Electrical hold a current Electrical Worker Licence issued by Energy Safe Victoria. Our team includes fully qualified journeyman electricians and licensed apprentices. Rincon Electrical itself holds a Registered Electrical Contractor (REC) licence,
Do you work on residential jobs, commercial jobs, or both?
Both. We carry out residential electrical work — including home renovations, switchboard upgrades, EV charger installations, lighting, and smart home systems — as well as commercial electrical work for offices, retail premises, and light industrial properties. Our commercial services include testing and tagging, fit-outs, data cabinet installation, commercial CCTV, and commercial EV charging infrastructure.
Are you part of a franchise or a large national company?
No. Rincon Electrical is an independent, locally owned business. Aymen El founded the company and remains the lead electrician. When you call us, you’re speaking directly to the people who will be doing your work, not a call centre… That means faster responses, more flexibility, and people who genuinely care about getting it right.
Do you provide free quotes?
Yes! We provide free, no-obligation quotes for all jobs. For most standard work like switchboard upgrades, EV charger installations, and lighting jobs, we can give you an indicative price over the phone or by email based on your description. For larger jobs or anything that requires a site assessment, we’ll arrange a brief on-site visit before providing your fixed quote.
Do you charge a call-out fee?
For standard booked jobs, we do not charge a separate call-out fee — the quote we provide covers everything. For after-hours emergency callouts outside standard business hours, an emergency callout rate applies, which we will always advise you of before we attend. There are no surprise charges on your invoice.
Do you give upfront, fixed-price quotes?
Yes, always. We provide a fixed price before any work begins, so you know exactly what you’re paying before we pick up a tool. We don’t do hourly billing on standard residential jobs — the price we quote is the price on your invoice, full stop. If we discover something unexpected during the job that changes the scope, we’ll discuss it with you before proceeding.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept payment by bank transfer, credit card, and cash on completion of work. For larger jobs, we may require a deposit prior to ordering materials. We’ll confirm the preferred payment method when your job is booked.
Do you offer 24/7 emergency electrical services?
Yes. Rincon Electrical is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for electrical emergencies — including total power loss, exposed or sparking wiring, tripped safety switches that won’t reset, burning smells from the switchboard. For after-hours emergencies, call us on 03 4250 9530
Do you work on weekends and public holidays?
Yes, we work on weekends for both booked jobs and emergencies. Public holiday callouts are available for emergencies, and emergency rates apply. If you need work done on a weekend, simply call or message us and we’ll confirm availability.
